It has been a while since I have last update my blog. Sorry for any inconvenience. For all parents who are available, please come to parent-teacher interviews on Wednesday from 6:30 until 8:30pm. I would love to meet you and update you on your child's progress.

KSN - students are working on their final projects. Topics include diabetes, HPV, pneumonia, and heart disease. Projects are due on Friday, June 15. Please ask for help when required.

The Respiratory System

We are learning about the respiratory system. To start, complete the handouts - How We Breathe and Labeling a Diagram. Once done, hand them in. Next, click on the link for the Women's and Children's Health Network. Click on Kid's Health an then Your Health. Click on the link for Smoking and its effects and read through the information. Next, go back until you can click on Teen Health. Find the feature on smoking. Read through the information. Write a summary of what you learn including: why people smoke, why they keep smoking, and good things about quitting. Then, read up about World Tobacco Day which is on May 31. Create a poster plan to educate people at our school about this important day. Once approved by me, you will create this poster. Be sure to include the title, date, pictures, colour, and important information about smoking.

Hi there Science ladies! Here is an interesting activity for the day: Click on the link "Women's and Children's Health Network" then "Kids Health". Click on "Your Body" then scroll down. Click on "Your Heart". You should find yourself looking at a lot of information about the human heart. You can find the questions to go with this reading under the S: drive. Look for Mrs. McCormack's folder. It is inside in the KSN folder. If you finish early, feel free to browse through this site. There is a lot of good information!

CGW4U: Countries Comparison was due today so hopefully the outstanding assignments will be handed in tomorrow. Please remember we are having a test on Friday (about 45 minutes in length).

SNC1P: Space Test this Friday. Those absent for the Geography trip must write on Monday. Get your $5.00 fee in asap please.

HFN2O: Apple crisp on Wendesday and Tea Biscuits on Friday. Lab fees ($20) are now overdue. Please have them in asap.

Semester 2 has begun!

Hello new students!

I am very excited for this semester. Keep checking here for updates/info/etc. as the semester continues. I will do my best to keep things updated.

CGW4U - if you have not completed Monday's work, please do so for Thursday. We will be discussing it and taking it up then. Tuesday and Wednesday involve the CIA World Factbook, mapping, graphing, and some analysis. If you are skiing, you will just have one research day.
SNC1P - Space....."to infinity and beyond!" Did someone famous say that??? We will be having our unit test on Wednesday, Feb. 23.
HFN2O - Safety first! Be sure to have your safety worksheet completed so that you can bake on Friday.
